Danny Ainge

Michael’s happy now that Chris Wallace has likely run his final Celtics draft. I’m not a huge basketball fan, but I can’t say I blame him.

It’s funny — I was just thinking about Danny Ainge the other day, wondering what he’s been up to since leaving the Phoenix Suns. I don’t watch the TNT NBA broadcasts, so I haven’t seen him there. Guess I’ll have an easier time keeping track of him, at least for the next few years.

The odd thing about Chris Wallace is that he’d be a great GM if you wanted a guy to fill spots 8-12 on the team. He’s finds all these great bargain basement overachievers no one else knows about: Bruce Bowen, Adrian Griffen, Milt Pilacio, Erick Strickland, J.R. Bremer, etc.

But let him run a draft and he’ll use three first-round picks on soft tweeners who all play the same position as the team’s best player. Or trade for an albatross.
